Thomas brings 15 years experience working in human services delivery. His career-long interest in the emotional health of children and families was inspired by his early work as a youth pastor, which he did while completing a master’s degree in theology.

Thomas later completed a second masters in marriage and family therapy and spent several years working as a child and family therapist. As a therapist, he became interested in how patients coped with illness in a close family member.

Thomas pursued and earned a Ph.D. in Family Therapy and completed post-doctoral research and training in family health psychology. He became the co-director of an integrated primary care clinic where he created programs for the delivery of traditional and complimentary clinical services to the uninsured. Thomas’s interest in family health psychology became personal when he was confronted with his own disabling illness and the subsequent challenges and opportunities to his most significant relationships.

Thomas’s lengthy and arduous rehabilitation, navigation of the health care system, experimentation with many treatments, and the discovery of biofeedback led him to identify a need for a truly collaborative, holistic form of health care delivery. This personal experience inspired Thomas to develop an innovative alternative to the traditional individual and family therapy services wherein: 1) EEG/EMG biofeedback are incorporated when appropriate, and 2) a network of health care providers is assembled who share a belief in holistic care and active collaboration among all providers, patients, and family members.
